Business Skill Workshop – Secrets of Influence And Persuasion

I have attended a business skill workshop at AKLTG this evening. The topic for today’s business skill workshop is on “Secrets of Influence And Persuasion“.

So far, this is the fourth workshop conducted in 2009 for the graduates of the Wealth Academy, Patterns of Excellence and Millionaire Business Academy programs.

The trainer for tonight was Stuart Tan who is a famous local NLP coach and Internet marketing expert at AKLTG. He is also the trainer of the Patterns of Excellence program.

This business skill workshop on influence and persuasion is perhaps a response to people who might have wondered why some successful people have the charisma to hold their customers, friends and the audience in thrall.

I think most people would call it the “charisma” of that person. Whereas, some people would have said it is the “X-Factor” from within. Who are the people possessed such charisma and X-Factor then?

Well, successful people like Donald Trump have the charisma, Bill Gates has built his fortune with it, and Anthony Robbins also has the X-factor to captivate and command thousands from his audiences.

The 3-hour business skill workshop was arranged in this evening to introduce the power of NLP to the WA, POE and MBA graduates. Anyone who wishes to know how you would be able to possess similar traits like the successful people and learn how to successfully influence & persuade others can actually get some head-ups in this useful workshop.

You could be a salesperson selling a product or a service, a parent trying to foster better relationships with your children and spouse, or even an employee trying to put across your ideas to your bosses.

I believe the introductory workshop has helped people to understand and use the power from within and achieve success in anything that you do.

A TreeTop Walk At MacRitchie Reservoir

My family and I went to MacRitchie Reservoir this afternoon as we wanted to try out the walk at the HSBC TreeTop.

We reached there at the Venus Drive open car park at around 4:15pm and we were told that the gate would be locked by 5:00pm. So, we hurried ourselves so that we could be in time for the TreeTop visit.

Fortunately, we managed to reach the TreeTop two minutes before the Ranger locked the gate. Lucky Boy! Phews….

MacRitchie TreeTop Walk – Pic1 :

This is a free-standing suspension bridge that connects the two highest points (Bukit Peirce and Bukit Kalang) in MacRitchie and offers a bird’s eye view of the community of plants and animals that live in the forest canopy.

The total length of the walkway is about 250m and its height from the forest floor varies, with the highest point at 25m. The walkway only allows for one-direction traffic. The entrance to the bridge is from Ranger Station via Peirce track.

We saw many monkeys hanging on the poles as well as along the roadside.

I snapped a picture of this tree that doesn’t have any leaf.

Although the weather was not too hot today, we still perspired profusely after walking for close to 3 hours at the MacRitchie Reservoir.

Anyway, it was indeed a fun walk hunting for the MacRitchie TreeTop today.

Western Food – Have Not Been To Jack’s Place For A Long While

My sister and I went to Bras Basah complex to find some books recently. We were planning to hang around there for an hour before hopping over to the nearby World Book Fair which was held at the Suntec City.

We felt tired after walking for more than an hour so we decided to have some bites to cease our hunger. There is a western food restaurant called Jack’s Place located opposite Bras Basah complex and its price is reasonable especially if you order their set lunch meals.

My sister loves Jack’s Place very much and she even has a membership card that entitles her to have a free meal on her birthday.

I ordered mushroom soup and chicken crump for my late lunch. My sister ordered her favourite lobster soup and grilled chicken chop.

My sister loves the food there very much but I just find it OK. The food could taste better if they bother to improve their ingredient from time to time.

Twitter Fever – Almost Everyone Is Using Twitter

Yes, almost everyone is using Twitter nowadays. Twitter Fever in ON and it is HOT!

Everybody is busy Twittering online. Celebrities, politicians, Internet marketers, established corporations, working adults, students and so on love to use this social networking site to communicate with friends or promoting their products and services.

Twitter is sometimes described as the “SMS of the Internet“. It is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read each others’ updates, known as tweets.

Watch the video clip below and you will know why everybody is talking or using Twitter :

Back To Work On Friday

Friday has been my rest day since many months ago due to the global economic slowdown. But I had gone back to work today because I’m getting more and more things to do lately.

Actually, I find that I really enjoy having a short work week and I’m used to it too. Reason being that I can have more time doing those things that I want to or like to do.

I can spend quality time going out with friends and family. I can also spend time learning new skills on a week day. In fact, there are many things that I can do or plan to do during my rest day so it is never a boring day to stay at home on a Friday.

Frankly speaking, I have been slackened for having a shorter work week and the working pace is slower than what I used to in the past. But I feel that it is good to slow down your footsteps at times and take stock of what you might have missed out in life.

Although I really miss my rest day, I think it is time to gear up a bit so as to stay on track at work after slowing down for quite some time.

Inspiring Thoughts – Simple Ways To Live Life To The Fullest

I received an inspiring email entitled “Live Life To The Fullest” from my friend a few days ago. I find that this email was filled with great  inspiring thoughts that help to cultivate our minds and let ourselves to be more positive towards our everyday lives.

Here are the excerpts that I got from the email :

  • Sit in silent for at least 10 minutes each day
  • When you wake up in the morning, complete the following statement : “My purpose is to….today”
  • Live with the 3 E’s….Energy, Enthusiasm and Empathy.
  • And the 3 F’s….Faith, Family and Friends.
  • Spend more time with people over the age of 70 and under the age of 6.
  • Dream more while you are awake
  • Try to make at least 3 people smile each day.
  • Smile and laugh more. It will keep the energy vampires away.
  • Life isn’t fair but it is still good.

All these are simple and yet powerful thoughts. They help to enlighten the way that we think and re-kindle our soul. Practise them and let us live our lives to the fullest.

Take Action – The Key Secret To Achieving A Successful Life

I have been wondering what it takes for us to do in order to achieve a successful life. I guess most people think of many things and come out with some action plans but never get started to make things happen.

In other words, most people allow their procrastination to sip in without themselves realising it. So, you can see that one of the hardest and most difficult things to do is to TAKE ACTION!

But the fact is that taking action is one of the key secrets to achieving a successful life because it is the one thing that will get you results.

It really does matter that you actually take action towards the goal and dream that you have. This is because :

  • Without movement, you won’t get anywhere.
  • Without a process, you won’t get any results.
  • Without action, you won’t reach your dream.

From the above 3 short sentences, you can see that you won’t get where you want to be if you don’t take a step forward by moving your leg.

You have to do something about it after knowing it. It is a fact that the difficult thing to do is to make the action part of your everyday life. The answer to this is to make the action part of your mindset and the way you think.

So, what you need to do is to take some time to think about all those things you would like to improve and optimize such as all the things that you feel are missing in your life or those things that make you feel uncomfortable and annoyed.

Lastly, the key element is that you will only reach your goal when you are taking action towards it. No matter what your goal is. So, take action now to achieve a successful life!

Finding Solutions To Crack A Hard Nut AT Work

I’m kind of busy with my work lately. Feeling like I have so much work to do but don’t have enough time to complete every single item assigned to me.

I don’t know whether this is a good sign or not. Perhaps, it is a sign of the economy is trying to pick up after slowing down for more than half a year. If that is the case, it is time for the bull to start running again especially in the second half of this year.

Whereas, it is not a good sign for me to burn myself out. I think I have to prioritise my tasks so that I could finish the assigned items before the deadline. This will help myself to be more effective and efficient in my work. Furthermore, this will also help to reduce stress and give myself a clear mind to think properly.

Actually, I’m feeling quite stressed out recently because there are some technical problems at work that have yet to be resolved. I’m really cracking my head and don’t have a glue as to how I can solve them.

It is kind of bothering me. How I wish I could crack the hard nut by tomorrow. Maybe I can find an answer in my dream? So, I would better go to sleep now 🙂

Exploring Different Methods To Drive Traffic To My New Website

My new website is up and running since 15 May. I have been thinking of using different methods to drive traffic to this site after letting it go live.

There are a few things that I have done or I’m currently doing such as putting the link to my other Bogs and website. This is called backlinking so that search engines such as Google, Yahoo, MSN and so on can find my new website quickly.

I have also submitted my website to Google by using its ADD URL free service but yet to do it on Yahoo and MSN. Anyway, Google is now the biggest search engine so it should suffice by adding my site to Google at this moment.

Next, I have also signed up a Twitter account recently and the aim is to drive traffic to my website. I’m actively using it to have a feel of how Twitter work. I have around 400 followers within 1 week and I’m also following other Tweeps. By the way, Twitter users are fondly called Tweeps 🙂

Today, I checked the traffic rank of my new website via Alexa.com and I’m glad to know that my site rank around 14.43 millions. I think this result is not too bad for a new website that is only 2-week old. My other older site was initially ranked around 30 millions after a few months!

Well, I will explore some other methods, such as submitting articles to article directories, to drive traffic and see what the result will look like.

Attended Blogging Mastery Free Seminar

I saw an advertisement in the newspaper 2 days ago and got to know that Alvin Phang of GatherSuccess would be holding a free Internet marketing seminar entitled Blogging Mastery this evening.

I was interested to attend the seminar as I’m following GatherSuccess Blog closely. So, I went straight to the seminar after work without taking my dinner.

Actually, I have had attended Alvin Phang’s seminar before but it was a paid one which was not too cheap 🙁 Luckily, this Blogging Mastery seminar is free 🙂

I saw Alvin Phang’s mother and wife when I was doing the registration at the counter. They were helping him out with the administrative work there. They also provided free snacks, coffee and tea so I think it was worth to attend the Blogging Mastery seminar 🙂

As compared with the previous paid seminar, I find that this evening’s seminar is a better one in terms of presentation. The message that Alvin Phang was trying to convey was much clearer than the previous one.

Although the topics that Alvin Phang had covered are standard Internet marketing stuff, those audiences who are new to Internet marketing and Blogging would find it very attractive and informative.

At least, Alvin Phang ensures that anybody, including non-Internet-proficient people, can pick up the required Internet skills easily if he or she is willing to work hard and put in a lot of effort.

I also believe that anybody who has the urge to succeed will make his or her dreams come true.
