Exploring Different Methods To Drive Traffic To My New Website

My new website is up and running since 15 May. I have been thinking of using different methods to drive traffic to this site after letting it go live.

There are a few things that I have done or I’m currently doing such as putting the link to my other Bogs and website. This is called backlinking so that search engines such as Google, Yahoo, MSN and so on can find my new website quickly.

I have also submitted my website to Google by using its ADD URL free service but yet to do it on Yahoo and MSN. Anyway, Google is now the biggest search engine so it should suffice by adding my site to Google at this moment.

Next, I have also signed up a Twitter account recently and the aim is to drive traffic to my website. I’m actively using it to have a feel of how Twitter work. I have around 400 followers within 1 week and I’m also following other Tweeps. By the way, Twitter users are fondly called Tweeps 🙂

Today, I checked the traffic rank of my new website via Alexa.com and I’m glad to know that my site rank around 14.43 millions. I think this result is not too bad for a new website that is only 2-week old. My other older site was initially ranked around 30 millions after a few months!

Well, I will explore some other methods, such as submitting articles to article directories, to drive traffic and see what the result will look like.

Attended Blogging Mastery Free Seminar

I saw an advertisement in the newspaper 2 days ago and got to know that Alvin Phang of GatherSuccess would be holding a free Internet marketing seminar entitled Blogging Mastery this evening.

I was interested to attend the seminar as I’m following GatherSuccess Blog closely. So, I went straight to the seminar after work without taking my dinner.

Actually, I have had attended Alvin Phang’s seminar before but it was a paid one which was not too cheap 🙁 Luckily, this Blogging Mastery seminar is free 🙂

I saw Alvin Phang’s mother and wife when I was doing the registration at the counter. They were helping him out with the administrative work there. They also provided free snacks, coffee and tea so I think it was worth to attend the Blogging Mastery seminar 🙂

As compared with the previous paid seminar, I find that this evening’s seminar is a better one in terms of presentation. The message that Alvin Phang was trying to convey was much clearer than the previous one.

Although the topics that Alvin Phang had covered are standard Internet marketing stuff, those audiences who are new to Internet marketing and Blogging would find it very attractive and informative.

At least, Alvin Phang ensures that anybody, including non-Internet-proficient people, can pick up the required Internet skills easily if he or she is willing to work hard and put in a lot of effort.

I also believe that anybody who has the urge to succeed will make his or her dreams come true.

Xsitepro Web-Editor – How To Add A Shopping Cart To A Website Using Xsitepro

I have all along been curious to find out how other website owners add in shopping cart to their ecommerce websites. I think it is beneficial to know how to do that in case I have the need to do so in the future.

Incidentally, I received an email through a subscription site and it has a video link to show how to add a shopping cart to a website using Xsitepro which is the web-editor software that I use to design my website.

This email came in handy to teach website owners the skill so as to be more proficient for people to use the feature whenever a need arises in the near future.

In fact, it is a frequently-asked question as to whether it is possible to add a shopping cart to websites created with XsitePro and the answer is : “Yes, it can“.

In less than 10 minutes, the video clip will show you how incredibly easy it is to create a fully e-commerce enabled website in XsitePro, complete with shopping cart page and payment processing.

Twitter Fever – Busy Twittering When Surfing Internet

I have been busy typing my lines on Twitter whenever I log on to the internet every night lately. This social networking site is making me very occupied and spending a lot of time there 🙂

I’m just curious about how Twitter works so I have to use it frequently so as to explore further. Basically the function of Twitter is very straight forward. Any new users can follow through the steps quite easily when setting up a Twitter account.

What you need to do is to answer the standard question of Twitter : “What are you doing?”.

Your answers could be as simple as the following examples :

– I’m writing email
– Learning how to set up Facebook profile
– Going to the mall for window shopping
– Doing my usual day-dreaming
– Drafting up a business plan
– Thinking how I can motivate my co-workers
– Setting up an online business
– Designing my new website
– Setting daily goals
– Cooking instant noodles for the kids
– It’s always darkest before the dawn
– Procrastination is the fear of success ~Denis Waitley
– etc.

Well, I’m still exploring around and getting myself familiar with Twitter. I will see how thing goes before updating another Blog post on Twitter.

Susan Boyle – Sings The Song “Memory” From The Musical “Cats” at Semi-Final Round 1 Of Britain’s Got Talent 2009

Hear Susan Boyle sing the song entitled “Memory” from the musical “Cats” at the semi-final round #1 of the Britain’s Got Talent 2009 show.

Although there is some shakiness at the start of the singing, it doesn’t mar the overall performance of Susan Boyle during the semi-final.

A point to note is that it is surprising to see Simon Cowell apologized to Susan Boyle for what they had treated her during the audition. Perhaps, he has apologized for all the people that have hurt her.

I personally like Susan Boyle’s first performance singing “I Dreamed A Dream” at the audition more than this one singing the “Memory” at the semi-final round #1. Anyway, I long to see more great performance from Susan Boyle.

I really enjoy listening to Susan Boyle’s singing. Her live performance is excellent and amazing. I long to see Susan Boyle perform in the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent 2009 show.

Twitter Fever – How To Set Up A Twitter Account

Getting more and more people are crazy for Twitter especially for Internet marketers who are so fond of using it to drive traffics to their squeeze and/or sales pages.

I think this is probably because Twitter is an easy-to-use online social networking site that allows the users to communicate with their friends, family, colleagues, loved ones and so on by typing a short sentence in less than 140 words.

I am curious about Twitter so I have decided to join in the Twitter fun by signing up an account this afternoon. You may want to join in the Twitter fun by watching the video clip below.

I’ll play around with my Twitter account and see whether it is as fun as what it is claimed by most people. Stay Tuned.

Crocs Shoes – A Second Price-Slashing Sale That Attracts Eager Purchasers

Crocs is offering their deep price-slashing sale from 22-24 May this year at the Singapore Expo. Today is my rest day so I was free to accompany my sister to go to the Crocs shoes sale this afternoon.

Actually, this is the second time that Crocs is having their warehouse sale here and the previous Crocs sale was in November 2008. It had attracted a big crowd last year probably because the discount was up to 50%. You can really save a lot of money if you were a great fan of Crocs shoes.

Again, Crocs manages to attract a big crowd of eager purchasers to flock to the Singapore Expo exhibition hall. The queue is so long that it has to use the empty exhibition hall next door to let the anxious customers to line up and wait for their turn to enter the Crocs exhibition hall.

My sister and I thought that the Crocs fever was over since many people have had purchased their Crocs shoes last year. However, what we had seen this afternoon tell us otherwise. The fact is that many people here are still very crazy for Crocs shoes especially Crocs is offering up to 50% of discount.

It is kind of difficult to believe that we are experiencing the global economic downturn right now in view of the strong purchasing power of the local people. Anyway, it is a good sign that might help to boost the economy and help to save more jobs.

A Moment Of Zen – Words Of Wisdom

I guess most of us are inevitably feeling stressed out at work or with our daily chores especially during this global economic downturn. We could be so busy until we might not notice the changes happening around us.

I think we ought to learn how to stay calm in order to have a cool and clear mind to think rationally. There is no use to grumble and complain about how unfair things might happen before our eyes.

So, stay calm by having a moment of Zen and appreciate the words of wisdom featuring in the video clip :

My Thoughts On Web-Editor Software

I have just created my first website using Xsitepro. I find that this is a great paid web-editor software which is very easy to use. It came with 3 manuals, namely tutorial, tools and essential, that assist the user to design his/her own website.

I did use some free web-editor software before but I find that this kind of free software is more cumbersome to use especially if you do not have much experience or knowledge in designing websites.

I had bought a couple of how-to CDs that teach people on how to build websites using Microsoft’s FrontPage and Macromedia’s Dreamweaver more than a year ago.

I took the Dreamweaver how-to CD out and spent my whole Sunday afternoon learning how to create a website using Dreamweaver. I must say that the CD is a very good guide as it holds your hand and shows you step by step on how to use the different methods to designing a Dreamweaver website.

However, I feel that Dreamweaver is a very sophiscated kind of web-editor software that suits professional web developers more than novice users. I really got frightened after going through the whole CD but I have to say that Dreamweaver is really a very good piece of web-editor software.

So, I would recommend beginners to use a free web-editor software to learn the basic of designing a website first and then purchase an easy-to-use one such as Xsitepro to start the journey of website designing for youself or for other people.
