Collected My Copy Of “Secrets of Building Multi-Million Dollar Businesses” Book

Adam Khoo has just launched his new book entitled “Secrets of Building Multi-Million Dollar Businesses” recently. He was giving a discount of SG $9 off the usual price of SG $32 to all Wealth Academy graduates at the pre-launch so I ordered a copy at the discounted price 2 weeks ago.

Here is a picture of the “Secrets of Building Multi-Million Dollar Businesses” book :

I received a notification email from Adam Khoo Learning Technologies Group (AKLTG) but I was too busy to collect the newly-released book last Friday. Furthermore, the collection time starts from 10 am to 6pm from Mondays to Fridays. Obviously, the timing does not suit most of the working people except for students, housewives, retirees, freelancers, self-employed and so on.

Who else wants to take time-off or day-off just to pick up a discounted book then? I bet not many people would want to do that. So, I wrote an email to AKLTG to ask for some flexibility for working people to collect the “Secrets of Building Multi-Million Dollar Businesses” book. Fortunately, the person-in-charge was kind enough to wait for me to go there to collect the book till 7pm on weekdays.

I reached AKLTG at 7 minutes to 7pm this evening and I was in time to collect the newly-released book. I took the book and then went off happily. Although I have yet to read a single chapter of the “Secrets of Building Multi-Million Dollar Businesses” book, I flipped through the book and I think it contains some valuable information inside. Hmm, the book looks interesting. I’m going to find time to read the entire book someday.

Habit Of Writing Things Down

I have the habit of writing things down in a handbook or notebook. I like to jot things down rather than solely relying on my brain cells to remember every single little detail. If you do recall that I have had blogged about the brilliant quote of Confucius earlier on, he says that : “The palest ink is more reliable than the most powerful memory“.

I believe absent-minded people would appreciate Confucius’ quote greatly especially when it comes to remembering important events or remarkable incidents. Writing things down is just like footsteps imprinted along the path that you have taken. The written notes might become something memorable in your life. You might find it amazing to have come this far when you look back from where you are.

I like A5-sized spiral-bound notebook as I find it handy. I have the habit of using mechanical pencil to write things down as pencil marks can be erased easily if a mistake is made as compared with ball-point pen. It looks more neat and tidy.

I went to the Popular bookstore to buy an A5-sized and an A7-sized spiral-bound notebooks yesterday. I am going to use the A5-sized spiral notebook for my work as my company does not have any spiral notebook that can fit in to my black notebook cover. Although I come out with my own pocket money to buy stationery for my office use, I would rather do it this way than to use something that I don’t feel comfortable with.

Here is a picture of the A5-sized spiral-bound notebook :

As for the small A7-sized spiral-bound notebook, I found it by chance while flipping around.

This is a checklist kind of notebook that is properly divided into a few columns for date, time, activity, remark and tick.

I know that I need this little and very handy notebook because I’m very forgetful when it comes to bill payment. I often forget to pay my bills on time and there goes the penalty fee. Gosh! The A7-sized spiral-bound notebook is going to help me to be more organised in handling my bills.

Besides writing things down to remind myself to pay bills on time, I think I have to discipline myself to do it diligently and follow the dates religiously. Otherwise, it is going to defeat the purpose of having the notebooks to help myself in remembering things. Well, I would better set my heart on doing it.

Happy Deepavali Day – A Day For Celebration And To Beat The Monday Blues

Thanks goodness, today is a public holiday. I don’t have to think of ways to beat the Monday blues for today. Thanks to Indians or Hindus for celebrating their Deepavali Day.

Today is already the third day of the long weekend. Hmm…how time flies? Just a blink of an eye and the 3 days have passed so quickly without us even realising it. I have to go back to work tomorrow and get stressed out by the long list of unfinished tasks again.

Although I’m dedicated to my work, I don’t consider myself as a workaholic even though some people have mistaken I’m one. Anyway, I will put work behind me for today because today is a public holiday. This is a time for me to relax and to enjoy myself. After all, I’m a human instead of a working machine.

So, I went to shopping with my sisters today. As usual, we will either go to foodcourt, fast-food chain or restaurant to have our lunch. As for today, we chose to go to the Chinese Ramen restaurant to have noodle meals.

We ordered Tom Yam Seafood Ramen, Ginseng Chicken Ramen, Shrimp with Carrot Dumplings and Chinese tea for our lunch.

Tom Yam Seafood Ramen :

Shrimp with Carrot Dumplings (Har Kau) :

We have been to this Koo Kee Chinese Ramen restaurant many times. We like the way they cook the Ramen / noodles and we also like the various flavours of other side dishes. The shrimps inside the dumplings are very crunchy and fresh. The Tom Yam Seafood Ramen is not too spicy and it is suitable for kids too.

Koo Kee Chinese Ramen restaurant is one of our favourite restaurants. We really love the food there. The price is reasonable too. I would consider this as value for money. Happy Holiday!

Having High-Tea Dim Sum On A Sunday Afternoon

My sister and I went to Toa Payoh’s HDB Hub for shopping today. It has been a long time that I did not visit this place. I also cannot remember when it was the last visit. We reached there at around 2pm and were planning to have some food later.

My sister went to the basement to look for her favourite video shop and I went to look for the AXS machine to pay my bills. We went separate ways for an hour and then met up to have our late lunch.

We then walked to the nearby Chinese restaurant for the High Tea meal. Their High Tea time starts from 3pm to 7pm on every Sundays.

This is the picture of the Chinese Fortunate restaurant :

My sister ordered our favourite Dim Sum for our late lunch. Immediately, a few waitresses were busy pushing their Dim Sum carts towards us and were trying to upsell their Dim Sum of different varieties. We picked those varieties that we like to eat and the table was then occupied with Dim Sum baskets and dishes.

We had a sip of Chinese tea while having the Dim Sum so as to help in the digestion.

We also ordered desserts after finished eating the Dim Sum. My sister ordered Honey Dew with Sago and I ordered Longan with Tofu.

It was a great Dim Sum meal and we enjoyed the food there very much. We paid the bill and then set off to our next round of shopping venture.

How I Want To Spend My Long Weekend And Enjoy Myself On Deepavali Day?

I was working late on Friday night to clear my work before calling it a night. My former boss was working late too. He knew that I was working quite late recently and he came to look for me to see how I was doing. Apparently, I would be the last one to leave the office so he told me not to work too late and tired myself.

My former boss told me that he was still deciding whether to drive in to Malaysia as he was not sure whether it would be safe to do so. He then asked me how I would want to spend the long weekend as Monday is a public holiday for Indians to celebrate Deepavali.

I told him that I will be working on Saturday to clear my work. He apologised to me for asking how I would want to spend my long weekend and then reminded me not to stay too late before leaving the office. Although my former boss is no longer my boss, he still shows some concerns to me. So, I think my former boss is not too bad a person after all.

Frankly speaking, I have no plan yet as to how I want to spend my long weekend. At the present moment, I just want to clear as many tasks as possible so that I could have a peaceful mind.

Plan To Set Up A Blog For My Niece

My niece knows that I have a few Blogs and she often asks me how I set up the Blogs for myself. I would reply her saying that I know how to set up Blogs because I have taken up a WordPress Jumpstart short course before. I apply what I have learned in the course and this is how I know about Blogging. I choose free WordPress theme and then set up the Blog myself.

My niece is 12 years old and is very curious. She would often stand near me to see what I’m writing in my Blogs. My niece would also give me some comments about the type of Blog themes that I have chosen. She doesn’t like simple and plain Blog themes. I think kids like colourful more than plain-looking stuffs. Maybe because they find plain Blog themes dull.

Her classmates have their Blogs hosted on free web-hosting services such as Blogger.com. They shared their “xxxx.blogspot.com” web address with my niece and this makes her feeling there is a need to own a Blog so as not to lag behind her classmates. Well, my sister is against the idea of letting my niece to have her own Blog probably because of online security reason.

However, I would think otherwise. This is because writing Blog post is a good way to practise my niece’s writing skill and also to learn to express herself in words. At the same time, it helps to improve her English. So, I would encourage my niece to own a Blog of hers.

I told my niece that I’m quite busy lately and I will find some time to set up a Blog for her during her school holiday that is not too far away from now. Hmm…I think it’s going to be exciting to have a young Blogger to join in the Blogging fun.

The Full-Belly Laughing Baby – A Hilarious Laughter Caused By Paper Tearing

One of my colleagues sent me a YouTube video featuring a baby who was having his hilarious laughter when his dad was tearing a piece of paper in front of him. It is very hysterical and funny to see the baby was laughing his heart out just by a simple paper-tearing act. This shows that how innocent the baby is. He is so cute and lovely.

It is interesting to see how he fell over when he was laughing. Perhaps kids find the weirdest things funny. It was funny when the baby laughed so hard and he hit his head on the carrier. Fortunately, the carrier was soft. Otherwise, the poor baby was going to get a bruise on his head if he hit it repeatedly.

My niece and nephews used to laugh like that when they were babies. They would ask me to repeat the act such as tearing a piece of paper or pulling a string over and over again. They didn’t seem to be tired of seeing the same thing repeated many times. They would keep laughing heartily as if it was the most funniest act in the world.

Laughter is good for our health and our soul. It is nothing better than seeing a baby laugh. Have a bright smile after watching the video clip. It has close to 20 millions views so far :

Nick Vujicic – The True Motivational Story Of A No-Arms And No-Legs Giant

The first time that I came across this true motivational story of Nick Vujicic was during Adam Khoo’s Wealth Academy course that I joined in November 2007. It was a 3.5-day course and Adam Khoo told us about the real life story of Nick Vujicic who was born without arms and without legs. The doctors have no medical explanation for this kind of birth ‘defect’ so far.

This is the picture of Nick Vujicic with his pet dog :

nick-vujicic_1

By looking at the picture, we can imagine the numerous challenges and obstacles that Nick Vujicic has been facing along the path of his life journey. He is the firstborn son of his parents who were not prepared for it. The doctors were shocked and there is still no medical reason why this had happened. Nick Vujicic’s brother and sister were born just like any other baby.

nick-vujicic_2

The birth defect didn’t stop Nick Vujicic from achieving the goals that he has set for himself. He has completed a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Financial Planning and Accounting.

Nick Vujicic is a motivational speaker who loves to go out and shares his story and testimony wherever opportunities become available. He has developed talks to relate to and encourage students through topics that challenge today’s teenagers. Besides having a passion for reaching out to youth, Nick Vujicic is also a speaker in the corporate sector.

nick-vujicic_3

One of Nick Vujicic’s dreams is to write several best-selling books. The title of his very first book will be called ‘No Arms, No Legs, and No Worries!

nick-vujicic_4

Nick Vujicic believes that if one has the desire and passion to do something, one will achieve it in good time. Now, maybe we shall sit back and think of our goals and dreams which we have always targeted in our lives.

Here goes the saying :

 Nothing is impossible!

So, whenever we feel life is tough or a particular task is very hard, we shall read Nick Vujicic’s real-life story again and think calmly to search for a new way to solve the problem.

A Pair Of Hands Is Not Enough

I have not been updating my Blog for a few days. Reason being that I’m really very busy with my work lately. I work long hours till close to midnight almost everyday. I don’t have enough sleep either. I think this kind of working lifestyle is not too healthy. Something needs to be done in order to improve the situation.

I’m just getting tired and stressed with the endless list of tasks that I need to do. I have a pair of hands just like anybody else but the workload is so heavy that it seems like it requires an “octopus” to handle. Well, how I wish I could handle many things at the same time just like an Octopus so that I can have 8 tentacles to help me out to tackle the tasks assigned to me.

Hopefully I can have a more balance working life and personal life soon especially when the global economy is slowing down. The demand and supply might go down. Corporations might have lesser activities going on.

This is not a good sign for everybody but at least it is a time for people to think twice to judge whether work is more important than personal life. Perhaps it is a time to ponder as to whether we should spend more quality time with the family and set some time aside for leisure besides working hard like a cow.

Lamborghini Estoque – The First Hybrid Four-Door Concept | Sports Car

Here is another eye-catching car being displayed at the recent Paris Auto Show 2008. I’m sure this sports car is going to raise the eyebrows of many people. This is the Lamborghini Estoque – the first Hybrid four-door concept.

lamborghini-estoque-concept1

This beautiful monster sports car is 5.15 metres long. Lamborghini Estoque has long wheelbase, 23-inch rear wheels, low profile and a feast of Lamborghini accents. It has four seats and ample luggage space.

Lamborghini Estoque is the first sedan that the company has ever built. It makes a record in the company’s history for having a four-door Lamborghini as compared with its traditional two-door sports car.

lamborghini-estoque-concept2

Lamborghini Estoque is believed to be targeting those who desired the performance of a sports car but needed the added room of a family car.

It is indeed very rare to see a sports car having four-door instead of two-door. The diehard fans of Lamborghini might not buy the idea of driving a four-door Lamborghini Estoque around.

lamborghini-estoque-concept3

Anyway, Lamborghini Estoque is a concept sports car, it won’t be on sales for now until 2010. Take a look at the all-new four-door Lamborghini Estoque concept in the video clip below :
