Today is my good friend GFF’s birthday. How time flies? My friend is getting……ahem…..wiser 🙂
I would like to wish GFF have a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY today. I believe her mom, Deary, son and daughter would shower her with even more love on this special day of hers as on 16 July.
May all wishes of my good friend GFF come her way. Warmest Regards…….from her Wonderful, Unique & Brainy Friend 🙂
A former colleague of mine sent me a very touching and inspiring email entitled “What is That?” Inside the email, there is a link for accessing to the YouTube video clip.
“What is That?” is a Greek short film made in 2007 featuring a father and his grown-up son sitting on a bench. Suddenly a sparrow lands across them.
The father asks the son a very simple question……”What is That?” repeatedly. Guess what? His son becomes impatient and gets mad with his father. Apparently, the father is disappointed with his son’s reaction and he just walks away to his house…………….
Like what my friend has mentioned in his email :
This is a very short but powerful video.
For those who are “growing old”, pass it on to your children to view.
It will make this world a better place for both young and old.
Cherish all that you love, especially those who love you.
I find this “What is That?” short film very touching and inspiring. I feel guilty after watching it. The film says it all about the relationship of aging parents and grown-up children in today’s society.
So, please take a few minutes of your time to watch this short but powerful video clip. Although the film is in Greek, it has subtitles in English. By the way, this is a film directed by Constantin Pilavios.
Both my Chubby and Skinny nephews like fishing very much and they have been bugging me to bring them to go for fishing since a few weeks ago.
My family and I have finally brought them to the Bedok Jetty located at the East Coast Park recently. They brought along their own fishing rods and then bought some fishing accessories from a fishing-accessory seller who ran his business on a bicycle.
Bedok Jetty at the East Coast Park :
As you can see from the picture above, there were quite a lot of people either cycling or fishing along the Bedok Jetty probably because it was a pleasant Sunday afternoon.
My Chubby and Skinny Nephews Holding Their Fishing Rods :
Although Nephew Chubby and Nephew Skinny are little kids, they are much more skillful than me in terms of fishing. I also wouldn’t know how to swing the fishing rod or control the rope properly 🙂
Far View of East Coast Beach :
There was a company function on-going on that Sunday afternoon. The songs coming out from the loud-speaker made the whole afternoon very exciting and lively.
There was a school of fishes swimming in the sea occassionally. They swam near the surface and made a splashing sound that was pleasant to the ears.
Although there were many fishes there, my Chubby and Skinny nephews did not manage to catch a single fish on that Sunday afternoon 🙁 Anyway, we will try our luck again some other time. Stay Tuned.
Today is my youngest elder sister’s birthday. Two days ago was my youngest elder brother’s birthday and he is older than my sister by 2 years and different by 2 days.
Their birthdays are so close to each other so it is kind of easy to remember. It is like you can remember his birthday and you won’t miss out on hers. Thus, no excuses to forget and no fightings 🙂
My family and I have had a birthday celebration with my sister this evening. We went to one of the Chinese restaurants to have some fine food as shown in the pictures below :
Mushroom with Broccoli :
Green Beans with Scallops :
Sea Cucumber with Broccoli :
Prawns with Mayonnaise :
Fish, Mushroom with Vegetables :
Roast Pork, Roast Duck and Soya Sauce Chicken :
Although the portion of each serving was quite small, the taste was above average and we like the food there. We really had a great dinner tonight. I think the birthday girl was satisfied with what we had planned for her too.
Babies are lovely and their cute smiles make people happy. To me, little babies are living dolls for the adult to take care and adore.
Ever wonder how would it be like if babies can do stunts or somersault? I know it will be unbelievable or something impossible to happen.
Evian, the mineral water company, has created an advertisement featuring a bunch of cute babies jumping around on rollers. Obviously, this is only made possible with the help of computerised special effects. Although the action-packed ads looks artificial, the idea of using babies to sell mineral water is refreshing and creative.
The jumping-around stunts make the advertisement very entertaining and amusing. All the babies look cute and lovely but somehow look funny though.
I would also like to dedicate this babies-on-rollers video clip to my Seremban friend (DK) who has just given birth to her baby girl as on 23 Jun. I wish both mommy and baby happy and healthy 🙂
Here is a video clip about an inspirational bass-fishing fisherman by the name of Clay Dyer. Just like Nick Vujicic, this fisherman doesn’t have any legs and left arm but was born with a tiny right arm.
What Clay Dyer touches people’s hearts the most is that he not only has set a goal for himself that seems impossible, but more than that, he is a young man who is absolutely content with his life.
I think Clay Dyer is indeed an inspiration to us no matter what our obstacles could be.

I have had written a Blog post about the Wonder Girls‘ hit song entitled “I Want Nobody But You” on 23 Sep 2008. The embedded video clip is sung in Korean with a few lines in English.
I want nobody nobody but you
I don’t like anybody else
If it’s not you, I don’t want it
I want nobody nobody nobody nobody
I want nobody body
Now, you don’t have to guess what the Wonder Girls are singing if you don’t understand Korean. Here comes an English version of the “I Want Nobody But You” song. Thanks to my friend, the GFF, for informing me about this new release of the English version.
Happened to watch the first episode of the America’s Got Talent 2009 show on YouTube recently. Obviously, this is the American version of the popular Britain’s Got Talent.
A trio singing group called The Voices Of Glory was interviewed by the judges on the stage before they started their performance on that night. The trio consists of 2 brothers (aged 13 & 16) and a sister (aged 9) from a black family.
One of the America’s Got Talent 2009 judges, Pierce Morgan, asked who their inspiration was. The eldest brother, Michael, replied saying that their mother had got a head-on collision with a drunk driver and stayed in a coma for 8 months about 3 years ago.
They sang by their mom’s bedside to comfort her. Besides singing to their mom, these 3 brothers and sister, also went round to sing to all the people in the hospital. I think that was very touching.
The Voices Of Glory sang the song entitled “God Bless America” and they proved to people that their performanc was one of the best in the America’s Got Talent show.

I’m sure most if not all of the people have found or are finding time today to bring your dearest father to the finest restaurant to celebrate Father’s Day.
This is one of the special moment that you let your dad know that you appreciate him. A little gesture like this certainly goes a long way.
How I wish I could do likewise but my dad is no longer living in this world since end of 2006. I used to buy a dozen of his favourite Tiger beers for him to drink when he was still alive. I wouldn’t know what he would be having today in other world.
Anyway, I wish all fathers, new fathers and father-to-be have a very Happy Father’s Day. Cheers!
