Collected My “Profit From The Panic” Book Purchased At A Pre-Launch Price

Again, AKLTG has published another book entitled “Profit From The Panic“. This book is written by 3 authors namely Adam Khoo, Conrad Alvin Lim and Ryan Huang

Adam Khoo is the Executive Chairman and Chief Master Trainer of the AKLTG. Conrad Alvin Lim is the full-time Pattern Trader and trainer of the Wealth Academy program. Ryan Huang is the journalist of the Channel NewsAsia of Singapore.

Being a graduate of the Wealth Academy program, I’m entitled to purchase the “Profit From The Panic” book at a pre-launch price of SG $25 which is about $7 cheaper than the retail price of $31.90. Furthermore, 100% of the authors’ royalties will be donated to the charity.

In other words, buying this book is in a way to give me the opportunity to do a good deed at the start of this brand-new year by helping the less fortunate. So, why not take up this offer to learn something from the “Profit From The Panic” book and at the same time helping others? So, I went to AKLTG to pick up my book this afternoon since today is my off day.

One thing to highlight is that this “Profit From The Panic” book is written within 30 days. It may seem like a very rush work to produce a book in such a short period of time. However, if you know that the authors are Adam Khoo and Conrad Alvin Lim who have written a few national best-seller books before, you would have no doubts in their new book. They are great trainers and they know their stuff well.

Furthermore, Ryan Huang is a journalist who has done reporting on the rallies at the Speakers’ Corner over the failed Lehman Brothers-linked financial products and the donation by Singaporean tycoon Oei Hong Leong after his gamble on one million AIG shares.

In my opinion, it is not impossible to produce a book of high quality in a very short period of time. The first thing that you need to do is to use a right strategy such as getting a few experienced, credible and knowledgeable authors together to split the jobs.

I guess the reason as to why this “Profit From The Panic” book is written in less than 30 days could be a reactive response to the world economic downturn. It captures the psychology of most people who are in a panicky state so this book comes in on time to help those who would like to gain profit from the panic.

My 100th Blog Post

I have started this “Laingan.com” Blog on 25 Aug 2008. You can tell that this is a personal Blog by looking at the sub-title or tagline called “My Piece of Sky Blog” in the header above. This Blog post is my 100th post. Wow, I didn’t expect myself to have come this far.

Reason being that I do not update my 2 other Blogs regularly as compared with this one. The most that the other Blog of mine can hit is only about 80-over posts. Whereas, this Blog has reached 100 posts as I have been updating it quite regularly.

The longest break so far is 3 days. I didn’t write the posts during those days because I was too tired and went to sleep early. I think it is better not to have too long a break in between. Otherwise, you are going to lose the momentum and then stop Blogging regularly.

I think it is always good to make it a habit to update the posts daily. Once you stop it, your procrastination will discourage you from taking action. Therefore, your Blog will be inactive and idle. So, I would encourage everybody to write Blog posts with perseverance. Happy Blogging 🙂

Having Flu

My eldest nephew is having flu and has been granted 2 days of medical leaves so he doesn’t have to go to school until Friday.

It seems like I am having flu too because I started to have running nose since yesterday. I feel giddy and tired. I think this is due to the seasonal change in weather. Furthermore, I was sleeping quite late a few days ago and it made me feel very tired the next day

Friday is my off day and I am wondering whether I should report to work on Thursday as I need to settle something important but not really urgent at work. Hmm…let me see how thing goes.

No Plan To Take Up FoolProof Diet To Lose Weight In 30 Days For Now

I received an email from an ebook writer who was promoting her weight-loss ebook to me. She said that her ebook would tell me exactly what to eat for 30 days and I would lose weight fast by following her weight-loss system written in her foolproof-diet ebook.

When I first read the email, I asked myself this question : “Hmm…do I need that?”. I am puzzled as to why I needed to lose weight although I have put on a little bit of weight recently. I think the reason for gaining weight is due to I have enough rest ever since I am less busy at work.

The slowdown of the world economy is indirectly giving me more time to rest as my company is practising shorter work week for now just like many other companies out there. Perhaps I can consider this as a blessing in disguise 🙂

I am now 1 to 2 kg heavier than before but it makes me feel good and fresh so I don’t think I will take up any diet plan to slim down. Even if I really wanted to lose weight, I think I have my own way of doing it.

Let me organise my thoughts and think about how to lose weight effectively. Maybe I will share my weight-loss tips with you in this Blog some other time. Stay Tuned.

Time To Get Back To Work After The Long Holidays

The Christmas season is over and the brand-new year 2009 has just arrived. Stop thinking about the past as they were gone forever. Now, it is time to “get back to work” after the long holidays.

I guess most of the people should have started work today just like me. Although I have a few tasks to do at work, my mind is still on vacation for now. Maybe I need a day or two for myself to adjust back to the usual fast working pace before starting another round of “fire fighting” again.

When I talked to my colleagues this afternoon, I found that I was not alone as they shared the same holiday-mood as me. So, I think this is normal for working adults as well as for students. Perhaps it really puts people off when the adults hear the “Get Back To Work” and the school children hear the “Get Back To School” phrases ringing in their ears before the holidays ended.

Just a blink of an eye, the holiday season is over. All of us would probably exclaim : “Time flies when you are having fun!“.

Oh gosh! It’s really no fun when thinking about you are going to get stressed out again at work. Hmm….maybe I need some “warm-up” before gearing up to full speed again.

How To Stick To New Year’s Resolution And Realise Your Goals

I guess most of the people should have already set their New Year’s resolution by now since this is the beginning of the year. Well, we all know that it is very easy to set New Year’s resolution and tell yourself that you will do this or do that in the brand-new year.

However, when it comes to actually taking action, I think the enthusiasm will just fade away quickier than we can imagine. So, why is it so difficult to stick to New Year’s resolution?

I think the problem is that most if not all of the people like to leave things up till the next day to do it. If you have the same kind of thought then I can assure you that you are a procrastinator. The thing is that there is always a tomorrow everyday. So, when are you going to do what you have had jotted down on your list that you have set as your New Year’s resolution then?

If you still don’t have a clue, I think I can share some tips with you over here. In fact, the techniques can be found in Adam Khoo’s “I Am Gifted, So Are You!” book.

6 STEPS TO CREATE POWER GOALS :

1) Write Down What You Want Specifically :

  •      It has to be specific so that your mind is able to focus on achieving it.

2) List All The Benefits and Reasons for Achieving that Goal :

  •      We must know the benefits and reasons so as to motivate us to work hard.

3) Write Down a Strategy and Plan of Action :

  •      Think and write down the strategy that you intend to use.
  •      Come out with a detailed plan of what you are going to carry out with your strategies.

4) Set A Deadline :

  •      You must set a specific deadline in order for yourself to achieve your goals within certain time frame.
  •      The purpose is to prevent you from procrastinating.

5) Emotionally Charge Your Goals :

  •      You have to close your eyes and imagine that the benefits of achieving your goals.
  •      The purpose is to give yourself the emotions to continously act on your goals.

6) Create Momentum by Taking Action :

  •      You should carry out the tasks right away so as to motivate yourself to get what you wanted to achieve.

I hope you find the tips useful by sticking to New Year’s resolution and realise your goals.

How To Have A Super Memory By Enhancing Your Learning Ability (Part 2)

There are a lot of useful information found inside the “I Am Gifted, So Are You!” book written by Adam Khoo. It lays out the information on the super memory and super learning strategies to the point with clear illustrations both in words and in pictorial forms.

i-am-gifted-so-are-you-book

This book is basically divided into 4 main sections, namely :

Section 1 : I Am Gifted, So Are You

Section 2 : Super Learning Strategies

Section 3 : Your Personal Driving Force

Section 4 :  Examination Strategies

I particularly like the chapter teaching about “Super Memory for Numbers” under “Super Learning Strategies” of Section 2. As we all know that numbers are abstracts that cannot be visualised, not like words. It is especially tough to remember long numbers such as bank account, credit card number, brokerage account, handphone numbers, etc.

One way to overcome this obstacle is to use the number system by assigning a key visual image to represent each number using phonetic sounds. In this way, the numbers can be remembered easily by visualising them as images.

I used to have the problem in remembering two of my sisters’ handphone numbers as their first 4 digits are so close and I find them confusing. After applying the technique taught in the number system, I’m not confused anymore. It’s just amazing!

I always think that there must be a way to learn something efficiently and effectively in order to get the most out of it. Otherwise, it is going to be quite tough and bored to learn new skills, new information, new languages and so on.

Sad to say that most of these super memory techniques are not taught in schools to enhance the students’ learning ability. In my opinion, it is not wise to stuff the students with information without teaching them how to apply the right study techniques in their studies to get good grades.

I find that Adam Khoo’s “I Am Gifted, So Are You!” book is a good book to teach people on how to have a super memory. I recommend you to pick up this book or any other good books out there if you want to enhance your learning ability by having a super memory.

How To Have A Super Memory By Enhancing Your Learning Ability (Part 1)

I bought Adam Khoo’s book entitled “I Am Gifted, So Are You!” recently and I have finished reading it within 2 weeks. The purpose of buying this book is to find out the ways of teaching my niece and nephews to have a super memory by studying more effectivey.

Of course, the ultimate aim is to help the children to score good grades in their tests and examinations by enhancing their learning ability. In my opinion, knowing the correct study method by mastering the study technique is more crucial than sending the children to attending too many tuition classes.

Otherwise, it will cause the children to study too hard rather than study smart and overload them with too much homework. It will also help the parents to save some money by cutting down on the number of unnecessary tuition classes.

In this “I Am Gifted, So Are You!” book, you can really find some very good study techniques by applying the SUPER LEARNING STRATEGIES as follows :

  • Power Reading for Information
  • Mind Mapping : The Ultimate Note-Making Tool
  • Super Memory for Words
  • Super Memory for Numbers
  • The Pattern of Memory
  • Mastering the Art of Application

The study techniques and super learning strategies are not only helping the children and youth to study smarter, I find that these methods are also beneficial to the adults who want to enhance their learning ability for their career as well as for personal learning.

Wouldn’t your boss be impressed by your super memory for remembering the numbers well during meeting and presentation? The Halo effect for others to regard you as a person who can remember the facts and figures well would last longer than you can imagine. They will be amazed by your super memory!

Happy New Year 2009 – Hopefully 2009 Is A Much Better Year Than 2008

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! We have had just said “good-bye” to year 2008 and now it’s the time to say “Hi!” to 2009. Hopefully, the brand-new 2009 is a much better year than 2008.

happy-new-year-2009

Looking back, I would say year 2008 was quite a turbulent but considered a good year for me. There were many changes happening at my work. Some of my close friends had left the workplace. I felt so sad and felt lost without them. My heart sank when my close friend told me that she had decided to quit.

I had a change of boss too. It was neither a good nor bad news. Frankly speaking, it took me quite a while to accept the fact. What to do? I don’t have other choices.

One of my old projects came back suddenly and it made me so busy. Despite having a hectic schedule, I really like to work on it as this is my favourite project. I’m putting in my heart and my soul working on this project hoping to make it successful.

It made me working long hours to write reports in the night but I won’t have any complaint or regrets by going the extra miles to make things happen.

Moving forward, I sincerely hope that year 2009 would be a much better and prosperous year for me. I have just jotted down 31 items (still adding some more 🙂 ) as my New Year’s resolution for 2009. I will do the best of my ability to make each item come true. I believe that when there is a will, there is a way. Wish me success!
