Bubble 2.0 – Interesting And Funny Video About Blogging

I received an email from my friend, the GFF, who shared a funny video clip relating to Blogging with me. The video sums up the present Blogging atmosphere over the Internet. Its song is pretty entertaining and I guess it might brighten up your day.

If you have been Blogging online for quite some time, I believe you should be familiar with the following Internet terms :

Google, FaceBook, MySpace,YouTube, WordPress, Skype, FeedBurner, Technorati, Digg, Stumble Upon, Del.icio.us, RSS, Twitter, Squidoo and so on.

The video clip has a funny and witty lyric that tells everybody that Blogging can be done anywhere, any time, so long as you have something to say.

Here is an excerpt of the lyric :

Passion To Write Is Driving Me To Blog Regularly

My buddy visited my personal Blog recently and made a comment in her email regarding how frequent I have published my Blog posts. I guess she has not been visiting my Blog for a while so the number of new Blog posts seem overwhelming for her. She says that I’m addicted to Blogging and advises me to take more rest so as to have more energy to work on a new project in my job.

passion_to_write

I think my buddy just don’t understand what Blogging is. Blogging is an online journal or personal diary for people to write and express their thoughts in words. Blog site is dymamic and it has to be updated regularly. Whereas, website is static that doesn’t require much updates. Furthermore, writing is my passion and I always love to write. I told my friend that I have so much to say but I cannot find a listening ear around. So, Blogging is for me.

I have a full-time job for me to make ends meet. Yes, I’m getting busier and busier with my job. There are many activities coming my way but I don’t have enough time to complete every task assigned to me. I’m feeling quite frustrated at times. I think I have to priortise the tasks properly in view of the heavy workload.

Although I’m busy at work, I wouldn’t want to sacrifice all my time for my job. I think I have done more than enough and I should cut it off somewhere before my work is invading into my personal life. So, no matter how busy I am, I still make it a point to write Blog posts.

I believe in perseverance. If a person has the heart to do something, things will happen no matter how busy the person could be. Contrarily, a person will find all kind of excuses for not doing something that he/she never has the heart to make it happen.

Writing is my passion and Blogging is an enjoyment to me. There are many things that worth my attention alongside my job. I have my own life to live. I have my own piece of sky to express myself and to find myself. So, I’m not addicted to Blogging. I hope you understand me better, my buddy.

Momoe Yamaguchi – My Favourite Artiste-Cum-Idol

Momoe Yamaguchi is my idol since I was a primary school student. She was one of the most popular Japanese artistes back then in the 1980s. In fact, she was a talented singer, actress and pop idol of Japan. Her career lasted from 1972 to 1980. I still like her after so many years since her retirement at a very young age, ie. at 21 years old.

momoe-yamaguchi1                              momoe-yamaguchi2                              momoe-yamaguchi3

Momoe Yamaguchi (or Shan Kou Bai Hui in Chinese) was born 17 January 1959 in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. She was left in the care of her maternal grandparents not long after she was born. She was then returned to her parents at around 4 years old.

I read about some articles in the newspapers and magazines reporting that her father was an irresponsible man. He left the family when Momoe Yamaguchi was still a little girl. Her mother had then become a single parent to her two daughters, Momoe and her little sister Toshie. The family moved to Yokosuka where they would stay until Momoe rose to stardom. It is the place she considers home.

Momoe Yamaguchi was very famous in the 1980s and secured her legacy by bowing out of the entertainment business at the peak of her career to marry her frequent co-star cum fellow actor Tomokazu Miura. I believe Momoe really loves this man vey much. Otherwise, she would not have to quit the show business during the peak of her singing and acting career. I think retiring at the age of 21 years old is just too young to waste her youth.

I still like to listen to Momoe Yamaguchi’s songs and watch her movies very much despite I don’t understand Japanese. I like her low, rich, powerful and kind of husky voice. I also like her melancholical eyes which are very attractive.

Here is a video clip of Momoe Yamaguchi singing her popular song called COSMOS live. Look at Momoe, how young she was before calling a day for her singing and acting career.

Mid-Autumn Festival Day 2008 – Also Called Mooncake Festival or Lantern Festival

Today is the Mid-Autumn Day which falls on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month of the Chinese calendar. The Mid-Autumn Festival is also known as the Mooncake Festival, Lantern Festival and Harvest Festival. This is a popular East Asian tradition of Chinese origin.

Here is a picture of the oriental beautiful Chinese lady featured as a model for the Mooncake advertisement :

The new moon day is the first day of a Chinese Lunar Month. The first day of the 8th lunar month in the year 2008 is 31st August 2008 so the Mooncake Festival is on 14 September 2008 in the Gregorian calendar. The Chinese Mid-Autumn Day is an auspicious occasion. It is a time of gathering and reunion for families and friends. This is a moment for people to come together and to enjoy mooncakes, Chinese tea and appreciate the moon at its fullest.

I like to eat mooncakes, especially those white-lotus seed paste with double egg yolks. I cannot stop eating mooncake once I cut it into 4 pieces. I can just eat the mooncake quarter piece by quarter piece until there are not many mooncakes left in the box.

Here is a picture of the traditional mooncake :

I wish you have an enjoyable Mid-Autumn Day if you celebrate Mooncake Festival. Even if you don’t, I still wish you have a wonderful Sunday with your loved ones.

Money Cannot Buy Love Or Even Friendship

Like I have mentioned in my opening post of this personal Blog before, I have three Blogs altogether. Someone has left a comment in my monetizing Blog four months ago but I have yet to approve or delete it. It is still awaiting moderation. The reader who has commented might be thinking that I’m ignoring his/her comment totally. This is not true if he/she has this thinking. Really, it isn’t true.

So, what is holding me back from answering the reader’s or visitor’s comment then? Let us see the comment that was left inside the comment box of my other (monetization) Blog :

Money cannot buy love or even friendship.

First of all, I have to agree with the reader’s comment. How true it is. This is a fact of life and nobody in this universe can ever change it or deny it. If you were very rich, you tend to have many people coming to you and claiming that they are your friends.

If you were a successful businessman or a millionaire or a tycoon, many slim, sexy, beautiful or gorgeous ladies will be attracted to you. I guess most of these beautiful ladies won’t mind to become your mistress even if you are married. Likewise for an elderly wealthy lady, many young, sturdy, suave or handsome guys will chase after you and hope to become your lovers. This scenario looks so common nowadays as if ants are attracted to honey.

Their intention is simple and none other, these people are going after the rich men’s and women’s money. For this instance, we can say that money can actually buy love although it is not true love.

What about friendship? I share the same view as the false love. The so-called friends will be flocking towards you if they know that you are very rich. In my opinion, you can tell who the real friends are only when you need help or when you are in trouble. Sad to say that there are just too few around. Those friends who lend you a helping hand are the true friends. As the saying goes :

A friend in need is a friend indeed.

Perhaps you might understand by now how difficult it is to answer the comment as left in the comment box by my reader in my other Blog. It just depends on which angle you are looking at money. Some people say money is not everything. Yes, I do agree with it. However, to me, everything is money. Everything needs money. We all do work very hard for money to make ends meet, don’t we?

Nissan Pivo 2 – The Advanced Cartoon-Like Electric Concept Car

The Nissan Pivo 2 electric concept car is an advanced version of the first Pivo that was shown at Tokyo Motor show in 2005. Pivo 2 is powered by advanced Compact Lithium-ion Batteries and employs ‘by-wire’ technologies for braking and steering. It has a unique rotating cabin. In other words, Pivo 2 doesn’t require any reverse gear at all.

Pivo 2 is also an environment-friendly electric concept car which delivers fun and functionality. The conceptual design of Pivo 2 uses revolutionary technology with 360 degree turning cabin and 90 degree turning wheels.

Nissan’s advanced electric In-wheel 3D Motor is used to power each of the four wheels of Pivo 2. It can turn through 90 degrees to allow Pivo 2 to drive sideways as well as forward.

The petrol price is so high these days, I guess more and more motor car companies might be venturing into the electric car business to cater to the future demand. Commuters like us will have more options to choose from provided the price of the electric car is not sky high.

Nissan Pivo – The Cute And Innovative Electric Concept Car

The Nissan Pivo electric concept car really looks cute. Its cartoon-like design will attract even more on-lookers than the Corbin Sparrow 3-wheeled electric car if it is running on the road. The imaginative electric car concept is a partnership with renowned Japanese artist Takashi Murakami at the company’s Nissan Ginza Gallery in downtown Tokyo.

The cute Pivo has a compact body and Nissan Motor says that the electric car is easy to maneuver. Pivo has an innovative cabin that revolves 360 degrees eliminating the need to reverse. It is powered by Nissan’s compact, high-performance lithium-ion battery and its unique Super Motor, resulting in zero emissions. From this, we can tell that Pivo is indeed an environment-friendly electric car.

Pivo is a three-seater car which can accommodate more passengers as compared with the one-seater Corbin Sparrow. It comes with a number of user-friendly technologies such as Nissan’s Around View Monitor. This feature helps to reduce blind spots by displaying the outside surroundings on screens mounted on the inside of the car’s A-pillars located on either side of the windshield.

Pivo also has a dash-mounted infrared (IR) commander installed to allow the driver to operate the navigation and stereo systems with simple finger movements without letting go of the steering wheel. This feature helps to reduce distraction so as to allow the driver to drive safely.

It seems like Nissan Pivo is one of my dream cars. It might be yours too after watching the video below :

“Ren” Is To Endure-Cum-Protest In Office Politics

There is an interesting scenario happening in my office lately. More and more people are putting up a piece of white paper written with a black Chinese character on it and tagging it at the partition of their cubicles. This piece of black and white paper is believed to be extracted from a Chinese Calligraphy.

ren-endure

The Chinese character is called “Ren” which means endurance or tolerance. If you look at this Chinese character carefully, it is in fact made up of two words, namely knife and heart. The word “knife” is sitting on top of the word “heart”. This means that we will suffer from acute agony as if a knife is stabbed at our heart while practising endurance. Nevertheless, we still have to persist in our endurance practising in order to gain great achievement. So, you need to endure if you wish to achieve something.

Why is the Chinese character — “Ren” so popular in my office recently? I guess you might be curious to know why. Well, the results of the annual increment and performance appraisal have just been released. As usual, some people are happy and some are angry with their annual increments. Those people who have got their promotions or got fairly good increment are usually the happy ones. Whereas, those people whose increments are lower than average or no increment at all are the angry or miserable folks.

Some of my colleagues have been complaining about they are over-worked but under-paid. They are full of frustrations. There are also people who are jealous about other people whom they think are less capable than them and yet got the promotions. What they can do is to put up the “Ren” character at their cubicles to protest. They face the character everyday to remind themselves to endure or to tolerate. This is also their silent way or tactic to show their unhappiness to the big bosses or managers and hope that they could get the hint. Otherwise, they might quit the company soon before it is too late. You see, office politics are prevalent in the company that I’m working in.

Yesterday, one of my colleagues came and scrutinised my cubicle. He was curious to know why there were so many people displaying the piece of white paper with the black Chinese character at their cubicles. He was wondering why I didn’t follow them. I told him that I don’t have to show off as I don’t involve in office politics. This is because the Chinese character — “Ren” is already resided inside my heart.

Courage And Confidence – An Anthology That I Like

I bought a few motivational and inspirational books written by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale. The most famous book that he has written is entitled “The Power of Positive Thinking”. He has written a series of such positive thinking books after his best seller.

Among all of the positive thinking books written by Dr. Peale, I like his “Courage and Confidence” the most. This book is an anthology compiled and edited by him. It is a collection of great works of the inspired writers, thoughts of great men, anecdotes of remarkable people. The material inside the “Courage and Confidence” book is arranged in twelve sections. Each section offers a different approach to such individual concerns as how to banish fear, loving and being loved, the art of thankfulness, the power of prayer, how to find happiness and so on.

I bought this “Courage and Confidence” book in August 1992. The book has turned yellowish after 16 years. I have taken a picture of this wonderful book and this is how it looks like :

courage-and-confidence

I like this book because it gives me courage whenever I feel down. There are many meaningful and inspirational quotes found inside the “Courage and Confidence” book.
Sometimes, it is not easy to find a listening ear. Friends might not be there if I need someone to talk to. Everybody is busy with their own work and their own family. Nobody has the time to listen to somebody else trouble. This is understandable so I won’t expect my friends to spare their precious time to be with me and listen to my grumble. I advocate one should always share the joy with friends and keep the sorrow to oneself.

The “Courage and Confidence” book is a great and essential book to me. I often refer to it whenever I’m in a low-spirited mood. It gives me comfort, strength, courage and confidence. This is indeed a good book.

Knowing More About Soft-Shell Crabs

As mentioned in my previous posts, my lovely nephew had bombarded me with his list of questions pertaining to soft-shell crabs. His curiosity has triggered me to search for the soft-shell crab information from the Internet. I think it is an opportunity for me to find out and learn more about seafood so that I would have more knowledge about something that I will be eating next time.

Soft-shell crab is one of the America’s most favourite seafood delicacy. It can be eaten with its entire crustacean. This is a result of catching and cooking the crab shortly after it molts the hard shell.

There are different types of species used as soft-shell crabs. It varies from region to region so the type of soft-shell crabs used in America is different from that used in the Asian countries. For example, the blue crab is typically used in the America. Whereas, the mangrove crab is used in Asia.

blue_crabs

The scientific or binomial name for the blue crab is called Callinectes sapidus. This name is derived from the Greek’s calli=”beautiful”, nectes=”swimmer”, and Latin’s sapidus=”savory”. The blue crab is a crustacean found in the waters of the western Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico which is the Maryland State Crustacean.

The blue crabs shed their shells to grow and they grow rapidly from 12 to 18 months from their juvenile stage to adulthood. The length of a full-grown blue crab is about 8 inches long. It goes through several growth stages during its lifetime.

The soft-shell crabs are categorised into 5 basic sizes, ie. whales, jumbos, primes, hotels and mediums. Below is a table showing the size, dimension and weight of the soft-shell crabs :

soft_-shell_crabs_sizes_dimensions_weight

So, this is the information that I have gathered so far about soft-shell crabs. It might not be complete but it probably helps to explain how the soft-shell crab come about and tells us about its origin. I hope I have answered most if not all of my nephew’s questions regarding soft-shell crabs.
