An Early Birthday Celebration For My Beautiful and Innocent Niece

My dear niece will be turning 12 years old soon on 02 Oct 2008 and it is a day after the Children’s Day. But it falls on a weekday so we have decided to have an early birthday celebration for our little beautiful Princess today.

I drove my sisters, niece and nephews to the Anchorpoint shopping centre along the Alexandra road at around 2pm today. We found a two-storey Chinese cuisine restaurant opposite Anchorpoint. The name of the Chinese restaurant is called Zhou’s Kitchen and its High Tea Buffet starts at 2:45pm and ends at 5pm daily.

We were too early for the High Tea so we made a reservation for 8 persons first and then went for shopping at Anchorpoint shopping centre. I remember I have been to Anchorpoint many years ago and things have been changing quite fast over the years. Perhaps this is a phenomenon in Singapore and the freshness is there if one has not been visiting certain places for quite some times. At least one won’t get bored easily.

The time was finally up after walking around to do our window-shopping. We were really hungry so we headed towards the Chinese restaurant for our High Tea Buffet punctually at 2:45pm. We ordered many different varieties of Chinese food and Dim Sum after ticking our choices on the menu.

Here are the pictures of the Chinese High Tea Buffet.

The Chinese food and Dim Sum at the Zhou’s Kitchen Restaurant are really delicious and yummy. We stuffed ourselves with the good food until we found it hard to walk properly. We like the food there and we will come back to patronise Zhou’s Kitchen in the near future.

Dining My Way To Special-Occasion Dinners

I notice that I have been dining my way to dinners for some special occasions recently. It seems to be a good time to eat and be lazy for a while. A moment to enjoy good food as well as to celebrate the joys of some special occasions.

I was invited to a luxurious buffet dinner at the Shangri-La hotel last Wednesday. One of my highly-respected friends has found a high-paying job after resting for a few months. My friend and I were feeling excited about it and were pestering our dear friend to give us a good treat for getting a new job.

Luckily, she was generous enough to let us choose wherever we wanted to go. So, we chose the high-class place to have our dinner and celebrate for her. This is the first time that I had been to the Shangri-La hotel. I enjoyed the cosy environment and the fine food over there. Besides enjoying the good food, we were chatting, laughing and throwing out our frustrations about our jobs. We stayed there past midnight without noticing that we were the last customers of the night. Then, we went our way home after a great buffet dinner.

Today I was invited to an eight-course Chinese dinner at the seafood restaurant. My peer has just got his promotion and become my immediate supervisor. Perhaps he is the best among the limited choices although he might not be the suitable person. I think he just got the luck. Frankly speaking, I’m not sure whether I should feel happy or sad about it to have my peer becoming my boss. I personally don’t like this kind of thing to happen but what to do. So, I attended the dinner with a mixed feeling.

I will be attending the annual dinner and dance event of our company tomorrow. It starts at 7pm in the evening. It’s a Rocker’s night so the dress code is smart casual. I prepare to go there to have a relaxed and enjoyable evening. It might be a lucky night too.

One of my colleagues has just resigned and he will be leaving next week. I heard that there might be a dinner organised for him but I guess that I might not be able to make it due to I will be having an oversea call happening at the same time.

I have one more colleague resigning and I’m sure we will organise a farewell dinner for her next month. Time passes very fast each day. I think it’s time for me to plan where we wanted to have the dinner.

Wow, I have so many dinners to attend lately. People found new jobs, people got promoted, people quit the old jobs and attend company’s AD&D event. Besides burning a hole in the pocket, I think I’ll be getting fatter and fatter real soon.
