How To Have A Super Memory By Enhancing Your Learning Ability (Part 2)
There are a lot of useful information found inside the “I Am Gifted, So Are You!” book written by Adam Khoo. It lays out the information on the super memory and super learning strategies to the point with clear illustrations both in words and in pictorial forms.
This book is basically divided into 4 main sections, namely :
Section 1 : I Am Gifted, So Are You
Section 2 : Super Learning Strategies
Section 3 : Your Personal Driving Force
Section 4 : Examination Strategies
I particularly like the chapter teaching about “Super Memory for Numbers” under “Super Learning Strategies” of Section 2. As we all know that numbers are abstracts that cannot be visualised, not like words. It is especially tough to remember long numbers such as bank account, credit card number, brokerage account, handphone numbers, etc.
One way to overcome this obstacle is to use the number system by assigning a key visual image to represent each number using phonetic sounds. In this way, the numbers can be remembered easily by visualising them as images.
I used to have the problem in remembering two of my sisters’ handphone numbers as their first 4 digits are so close and I find them confusing. After applying the technique taught in the number system, I’m not confused anymore. It’s just amazing!
I always think that there must be a way to learn something efficiently and effectively in order to get the most out of it. Otherwise, it is going to be quite tough and bored to learn new skills, new information, new languages and so on.
Sad to say that most of these super memory techniques are not taught in schools to enhance the students’ learning ability. In my opinion, it is not wise to stuff the students with information without teaching them how to apply the right study techniques in their studies to get good grades.
I find that Adam Khoo’s “I Am Gifted, So Are You!” book is a good book to teach people on how to have a super memory. I recommend you to pick up this book or any other good books out there if you want to enhance your learning ability by having a super memory.
